Giving Old Wood a New Life
I am always on the look out for beautiful, old pieces of wood to give a new purpose. Not only is it economical, it’s eco-friendly! There’s something thrilling about finding discarded or forgotten wood and reclaiming it for new projects.
Recently, I came into contact with an older gentleman by the name of Hank Bedford. I told him about my small business venture and he told me he had some wood on his farm. Apparently, his friend gave it to him a long time ago and he had been saving it for a good opportunity. I suppose he saw Sanderson Designs as that opportunity! He invited me on to his farm to take a look at the wood and a few special pieces of live edge in his shed.
Low and behold, the motherlode of beautiful wood planks! They were nearly begging for a second shot at life. After a few hours of checking out the wood and exploring the farm we struck a deal.
A huge shout out to Hank for his hospitality and wood! Almost all of the Home & Garden Collection includes wood procured during this visit. I am so excited to share the pieces with you all and to bring a little slice of a Central Texas farm into your home.
